美國共和黨總統候選人川普的不光彩事跡，近日接連被起底，醜聞風波不斷，2場辯論會下來也不見民調起色，現在有黨內大老跳出來公然與他切割，共和黨籍的眾議院議長萊恩（Paul Ryan）稍早已正式宣布，他不再為川普助選。
根據美國哥倫比亞廣播公司（CBS）報導，萊恩稍早致電告訴黨內人士，正式宣稱他將不再為川普助選；川普被萊恩（Paul Ryan）宣布切割後，他反嗆萊恩：「不要浪費時間反對我」。
川普在自己的推特（Twitter）上推文表示：「萊恩應多花點心思在預算上、處理好就業和移民偷渡的問題，而不該浪費時間在對付共和黨候選人」。
美國總統大選將在11月8日正式展開，萊恩在與多名眾議員舉行電話會議時聲明，一直到競選前，他都不會再為川普助選、辯護。
對於萊恩突如其來的舉措，他的發言人史壯（AshLee Strong）解釋道，萊恩是為共和黨在國會的多數席次著想，但也有消息人士透露，萊恩是看川普大勢已去，轉而退守國會席次，避免國會席次也被民主黨整個拿走。
